QUEER ENERGY · COLLECTIVE CARE

Our charter: every Queen dances safely

Every Queen Dance is a party for every Queen: lesbians, trans and non-binary people, gay people, fat people, masculine people, disabled people, and every body that wants to dance. To keep the floor a place of freedom, we make a commitment and ask you to join us.

Consent, always.

A look, a dance, a touch: nothing is imposed. If it is not a clear yes, it is a no. Respect a no without negotiating.

Respect every identity.

Do not comment on anyone’s gender, body, style or age. If you do not know someone’s pronouns, ask or use their name.

Zero tolerance.

Racism, transphobia, homophobia, lesbophobia, fatphobia, ableism, sexism and harassment of any kind have no place here. Anyone engaging in these behaviours will be removed from the event.

No photos without permission.

Not everyone can or wants to be visible. Do not photograph or film anyone without their explicit consent, and do not publish anything without the consent of the people shown.

Look after yourself and others.

Drink water. Take breaks. If someone around you is unwell, do not leave them alone: alert the bar or the team.

A problem? Talk to us.

If you experience or witness a situation that makes you uncomfortable, speak to the bar, the welcome desk or the organising team. We listen without judgement, believe you and act.

A venue that considers every mobility need.

Access arrangements, any lifts and accessible toilets will be specified for each venue before the event. For a particular need, email contact@everyqueendance.com.

Entering means accepting this charter.

The team may refuse entry or remove anyone who does not respect this charter, without a refund.

Shake your ass in celebration of who you are, and let everyone else do the same.
